In the coming weeks I'll be introducing our class to the daily centers routine. Centers are a common practice that early childhood educators use to work with students in small groups and provide rich learning opportunities. Our eight weekly centers are play-based activities, games or art opportunities that focus on skills we have been learning together in class. There are SO MANY positive outcomes from this type of school work! And it is truly work, even when it masquerades as play. I will be posting pictures of some of our center activities, and I hope your child will share with you the fun activities that they participate in and the big discoveries they make throughout the each week at our daily centers. Center time also allows me to work with small groups of 5-6 students for reading groups, and I am so excited to start formal reading instruction with our class!
